City of Independence, Missouri: Main tap utilizing HIPPO 4532P
Randy and Stan with the City of Independence, Missouri utilizing their 4532P to do a tap into a water main.
They used a pneumatic tapper, powered by the air compressor in the 4532P, to cut into a 6" water main. They also had a hydraulic water pump on standby, just in case the hole started filling up with water. The 4532P would have been able to operate the tapping machine, and the water pump, at the same time, for the duration of the job.
Power capabilities of their 4532P
- Air Compressor: 185CFM
- Hydraulic tool circuit with fully adjustable flow from 0-15gpm @ 2000psi
- Hydraulic tool circuit with fully adjustable flow from 0-30gpm @ 2000psi
- Electric Generator: 9,000 Watts
*Note* Some tappers utilize a hydraulic motor to operate the tapping machine. A crew equipped with any HIPPO would be able to use both the tapping machine, and another hydraulic tool (such as a pump) simultaneously.
Mission Complete!
