Important Fluid Power Formulas:

Keeping it simple, here are the most important fluid-power formulas you "need" to know:
Horsepower = Pressure (PSIG) × Flow (GPM)/ 1714
Therefore, a typical HIPPO tool circuit (10gpm @ 2000psi) delivers 11.67HP to the tool!)
2000psi X 10gpm = 20,000/1,714 = 11.67HP
Even if the tool is only 80% efficient (even old, well-worn hydraulic tools are typically 85% efficient), that's still 9.33HP available for the tool to do work; more than any other power source.
